Well Catharine and Lisa came over yesterday to do 'Chinese', but judging by the picture, you can probably see that we ended up watching a movie instead... >_>;;

So by the end of the 8 hours or so, the 3 of us practised 5 minutes of chinese, somehow consumed a 2L tub of icecream, a Sara Lee cheesecake, Oporto, Red Rock Deli chips, and successfully (or not) cut someone's hair.

Yay us.

Anyway, today I saw 3 of the world's most deadliest snakes!!! [Some Snake show + informative talk was on in Maroubra Mall today, and being the idiotic person I am, I decided to stick around and listen for 1 hour instead of going home and doing work].

The Fierce Snake/ Inland Taipan:
Contains enough venom to kill 100 men, 10 elephants, or 250 000 mice.
Cannot be found in NSW, but in desserty places of Queensland, NT and SA.
Once bitten, chances for survival are very small. (If a drop of venom is injected into vein, the person will fall unconscious within 30 seconds, and die within a minute).
50 times more venomous than the Indian Cobra.

The Brown Snake:
Often confused with the Tiger Snake (4th most venomous in the world), but is infact twice as venomous.
The brown snake can live anywhere, and is especially common in backyards.
12 times more venomous than the Indian Cobra.
Has an attitude problem, and will bite if it feels like it.

What most people think is an extremely dangerous snake - Red Belly Black snake, is only 0.26 times as venomous and the Indian Cobra. Meaning that you probably don't even need to go to hospital (well the guy implied anyway). And apparently, this snake has a very good temper =)
